The study by MacVicar et al. (2016) found that approx three quarters of gradutes were still working in rural areas, therefore the Fellowship Program appeared to be effective.

This promising practices focuses on developing skills and capability in remote managers so that they can better manage the challenges experienced in remote workplaces. It is based on the premise that people leave managers not companies.

Inconclusive in terms of improving retention as the evaluation did not focus on retention; however, the findings suggest that this is a promising practice for improving workforce retention.
